An Amazing HF Radio With A Great Price.

I am quite impressed by the performance of this radio. The first thing I noticed is the DC power cable. Yaesu provided a heavy gauge pure copper wire. They did not cheap out of power cable. Of course, I immediately terminated the ends to Anderson power poles. It's AESS technology makes a lot of difference in audio clarity. It is very easy to make updates using an SD card. I can record my QSOs using the same SD card, I hooked up an external monitor and mouse so I can easily see the waterfall. One thing that really stands out was the ease of operating this radio on FT8 (WSJX) digital mode. All I have to do is connect a USB cable from this radio to my laptop. It automatically created the necessary audio and com ports. I have a G90 and comparing these 2 radios, it is a night and day. In order for me to operate FT8 on G90, I have to solder 3 audio cables properly, use a data interface etc. The FT-710 power is from 5W to 100W. The G90 is from 1W to 25W. If I want 100 W on the G90, I will need to buy an additional linear amplifier which makes the G90 costs more than this FT-710. Overall 5/5 stars. I highly recommend this radio and recommend buying this before the sale ends at the best radio store in Toronto. RADIOWORLD! 73 to all - VA3BHY

Best Radio in in my33 Ham Years

This is an amazing Radio. I has earned it's #4 place on the Sherwood List right behind the FTDX-10. It is very hard to hear the difference between these two excellent radios. I can now pull out the weak signals I couldn't hear before. The AESS version is worth the extra $100. Being a true SDR radio it will improve even more with Firmware updates that are so easy to do. Menus are Brilliant and simple. Fan is quiet and efficient. DVI on back let's you hookup DVI or VGA monitor. DSP and DNR is even better with last firmware update November 2023. Best choice for a radio I have ever made.
