Auto tuner will not tune random antennas including G5RV unless you are in "Emergency mode".
All Kenwood and Yaesu radios will auto tune these antennas. Be prepared to order an external antenna tuner which will cost you at least another 300 dollars.
(Radioworld) This radio will tune G5RV's without issue, as many customers have done so. The maximum SWR for Kenwood, Icom or Yaesu radios is 3:1.
There may be more mitigating issues with the installation.

Having been a radio ham for 50 years, and owned classic Kenwood radios including Elecraft SDR, this was my second purchase of a Icom base radio, I am not disappointed, the performance, features and versatility of this rig are a pleasure to operate, the price point brings a smile. 73’s

Great Rig!
One year in and still going strong without any issues. A solid rig with outstanding features for the price point. I highly recommend this radio.

A lot of radio for the price
New ham as of a little over a year ago, I got this shortly after my callsign based on experiences of a friend. Mostly using it for digital modes and for what I want to do I can't find any fault with it.
Small and relatively portable for weekends away, friendly interface and lots of info online to help set it up for specific modes, handy built SWR meter (well sort-of SWR) and waterfall, good quick access to controls like filter tweaking and setting levels, and the built in RTTY decoder is fun to use when just monitoring.
More serious hams can probably find fault or unwanted limitations with this unit but for a beginner like me it's great.

Best Entry Level HF rig
No wonder icom sold a ton of these and its the stores best seller. This radio takes the long legacy of HF design from the top of the line to the mid line Pro series and updates the radio. This radio should sell for more as it is above the competitors. The display is crisp and the menu structure is easier to navigate and intuitive than my Yaesu 991. If you are serious about a dedicated HF only rig then you will be very pleased. If you are upgrading from the 756Pro series then the 7600 is your radio. The noise reduction on this radio is impressive and you need to try the stores demo radio. Take 20 minutes at the store and play around with it and you will be pulling out your credit card and selling your older radio at the next hamfest. Highly recommended.

There will always be critism of any product no matter what however you would have to dig very, very deep to come up with a complaint about this sweet little rig! Beautiful display, plenty for gear heads to play with, excellent speaker, small footprint, excellent filters and so much more! ICOM, you did good, REAL good!
