Great tuner, short battery time
I have the mAT-705plus version. It’s a great tuner. Small and quiet and tunes well. I use it with “random wire” antennas. It interfaces with the Icom 705 perfectly and the memory tune is very quick; initial tuning is longer. My main problem with the tuner is that the LEDs drain the internal batteries when you’re operating. During a contest, I get about 7 hours before it needs to be recharged. Not a problem if you’re only out in the field for a few hours or have a way to charge it. I have operated it while charging. It takes about 50 minutes to charge it. The other thing to keep in mind is that I don’t think you can use it with other radios. I haven’t tried. For the Icom 705 it’s a great piece of gear. I have had mine for over a year without any issues. The casing is rugged and solid. I have a video review if you want to see it in action. The LDG, for example, runs for over a year on 8 AA batteries for me. Hope this helps.
