Helps increase 2m range
I bought several of these for my Go kits and for SOTA. The half wave design does not need a ground so using it on the Icom 705 and Yaesu FT-818 makes it easy. It increases the range and has proved to allow a 150 mile contact from a hilltop to another station using just 5 watts on 2m FM. For contests on 2m it helps make contacts that the rubber duck will not allow. Its all about the antenna. Keep the rubber duck for belt use but use this gainer antenna for better performance.
