Dissapointment

The antenna starting falling apart from inside. When opened the cilindar, found broken copper parts - "teeths" that are connecting the cilinder to the body. Other contacts were loose. Also, I was never able to complete a QSO on 80 meters. Almost every time when I tried to work on 80, 40 or 20 meters, several fuses in the main house panel were popping-out. The antenna was grounded and mounted on the balcony with three counterpoises. The RF was always present. RigExpert AA-54 was used to adjust the antenna resonance, but the SWR was never below 1:2. With the antena purchase, you will need to purchase a magnet mount for a car (MFJ-335) and if you want to use it at home, the hatchback mount for a balcony (K400C, K550). Overall, the investment is too high for what you are getting in return.

Radioworld Admin Note: This antenna is not designed for home use, nor is it designed for use on a magnet mount. Like most screwdriver antennas, grounding and counterpoise are extremely critical. It will not work properly unless correctly installed.
