Forcing a Full Tune Doesn't Work

This tuner has been a big disappointment for me. I use it mainly for field operations when doing POTA activations with my Yaesu FT-891. My field antenna setup is always changing so the memory tuning feature is more of a hindrance than a help. However, the big issue I have with this tuner is the fact that the "Force a Full Tune Cycle" feature does not seem to work properly. Sometimes I will have a measured SWR of around 1.6 before connecting the tuner and I want to use the tuner to get a much better SWR. Unfortunately, the normal tuning method just stops when it has a match of around 1.5 or below. I then try to force a full tune but the tuner does not go through the full range of all the capacitors and inductors. It simply just stops when the match is "good enough". A full tune can take up to 6 seconds to complete, but when I try to force a full tune, the tuning process usually stops after just a half second or less with no noticeable improvement to the SWR. I would rather have it take the full 6 seconds to find the absolute best match but so far, I have been unable to do this. I should have bought the matching Yaesu tuner for the FT-891. I will contact LDG again to let them know of the issues I am having. If they fix my tuner, or provide updated firmware that solves the issue, I will update my post here. 73 DE VE3IGS
