Good analog beginner radio
A decent radio for the beginner, nice big display ,dual vfo ,crossband repeat, just an fyi the screws for mounting the main unit are m4-0.7. A few cons might be as follows: 1. power setting is the same for all channels, (cannot program each memory separate) 2. Can't do split band on the same memory channel ( ex. 144mhz up, 440 down, for satellite ) but you can use both vfo. 3. Does not have a button to switch to reverse on repeaters ( to listen to the uplink frequency) 4. Does not have a nice way to switch between name display and frequency display. But other than that it's still a decent radio.

Another Great Radio
Bought this radio about a week ago, and purchased the programming software as well. For the price, this radio is the best bang for your buck, hands down! Other than D-Star it can complete all functions of the IC-2820. A great addition to this unit is the mic can be plugged into to head or the body of the radio, which opens up a lot more options for mounting in a mobile.
